Talk of the Nation Broadcasts

October 24, 2000 Long-Term Effects of Divorce on Kids

For 25 years, Judith Wallerstein has studied a group of Californians who all lived through their parents' divorce. She found that the lingering effects of their parents' breakup still effects them in profound ways. Other researchers dispute her findings. September 6, 2000 Divorced Parents and Joint Custody of Children

Today, more parents are opting for custody arrangements that share day-to-day childrearing duties as well as legal responsibilities. Does the time kids spend with their divorced parents need to be equal time to be quality time, or have the courts taken gender equity too far?

After-school activities, late-working parents, computers, and that old favorite TV all work to push back bedtimes in modern households. Join host Juan Williams and a panel of experts to share your opinion on when kids should be getting to bed.
